Windows Ahci Install Of WindowsI did a fresh install of Windows 10 and still had the same problem. I finally narrowed it down to the AHCI driver Windows 10 installs for the AMD SATA Controller. I downloaded and installed the latest AMD chipset driver 15.7.1, but the installer doesnt update the AHCI driver. ![]() Open device manager by right clicking the start button and then click Device Manager. Look under IDE ATAATAPI Controllers and then right click on Standard SATA AHCI Controller and click Update Driver Software. Click on Browse my computer for driver software and then browse to where the AMD installer extracted the files. It should be C:AMD. Make sure the box for Include subfolders is checked then click on Next. ![]() Thats it, after rebooting your CDDVD drive should show up and work again.
